Description
Job Overview
To successfully lead on and deliver a high quality construction project on time and within budget, ensuring Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental compliance. To effectively manage the project team, including working effectively with internal stakeholders and consultants including architects, structural engineers and sub-contractors. To provide first class customer service and engagement with customers, working closely with the Customer Journey Advisor and Sales team to achieve 5* house builder status.
 
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Manage and maintain excellent relationships with all sub-contractors and statutory authorities, whilst working alongside the in house team, including quantity surveyors and design co-ordinators.
  • Maintain the reputation of the company for good quality of finish to all elements of the projects and achieving set objectives.
  • Develop and ensure a clear strategy is mapped out and communicated to the team to ensure timely delivery of the project.
  • Lead the project team to ensure the project is completed on time, meeting the agreed standards and objectives.
  • Lead on Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental, ensuring best practise is adopted and ensure compliance with current legislation, working closing with the HSQ&E team.
  • Organisation of the team structure to optimise the most efficient use of resources.
  • Work closely with the project Quantity Surveyor to ensure close monitoring of site expenditure and ensure set budgets are achieved, whilst managing and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Undertake take offs and scheduling materials. 
  • Liaise with the project Buyer to ensure the advanced and accurate requisitioning of materials and plant to allow cost effective purchasing.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that all works are carried out to high standards, deadlines and budgets and hold progress meetings with sub-contractors to ensure this.
  • Written and verbal progress reporting to internal stakeholders, which is to include weekly ASTA programming.
  • To identify and take advantage of opportunities to promote the activities of the company and to participate in seeking new business opportunities.
  • To complete all forms and reports in accordance with company procedures.
  • To ensure a schedule of inspections is put in place and adhered to, to achieve plot completion dates.
  • To work with the Customer Journey Advisor, achieving successful handover of homes.
  • To hold weekly meetings with the Sales team.
 
Person Specification
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience with a residential developer on both high end/volume build and traditional build housing projects
  • Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of construction procedures
  • Experienced liaising effectively with customers and local stakeholders to include local residents, schools etc. 
  • Ability to report effectively to internal stakeholders
  • End to end construction delivery experience, taking a project from inception to completion
  • Proven track record of successfully managing time and costs
  • Proven delivery in achieving the highest standards of health, safety, environmental controls and quality
  • Experience of working effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants
  • CSCS Card (essential), SMSTS (desirable)
