- Description
- A long established highly profitable £30m turnover contractor, require an Estimator to assume responsibility for their tendering activity.
As an experienced Senior / Estimator you must have a first class grounding in the preparation tenders for new build, fit-out and refurbishment projects in the £100,000 - £2,000,000 range.
A high level of responsibility will be given; therefore a conscientious and approach is essential.
The position would ideally suit a commercially astute Estimator who is now seeking a role where he can influence with a flexible organisation.
Key accountabilities:
- Enter new enquires into the systems both on-line and hard copy;
- Send out tender forms to subcontractors for pricing input;
- Negotiate costs to ensure the best price is achieved;
- Complete forms of tender ensuring deadlines are met;
- Update information held on systems, ensuring compete records are maintained;
- Liaise with colleagues, site managers and subcontractors to ensure all information is accurate.
Person specification:
- Extensive experience of Estimating projects valued between £100k to £2m;
- Ability to prioritise workload when working on several projects simultaneously and to tight deadlines;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels both on site and client side with the ability to break down complex procedures and details for non-technical clients;
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, up to date information;
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as using own initiative;
