- Description
- Our client a well established specialist facades contrator are looking for a Trainee / Junior Estimator to assist their existing team raise quotations based on the information supplied by their customers and to then respond, supply, estimate and raise further relevant details until an order is received.
Key Responsibilities:- Liaising with European suppliers, to check on production at the factory and establish lead times.
- To liaise with clients where necessary to obtain specific information relevant to tender content and preparation.
- To prepare material and labour for pricing.
- Working off Technical Drawings/Specifications
- Take some ownership of the estimating process, and follow a robust estimating procedure including enquiries to sub-contractors, choosing applicable sub-contractors, and communicating other bid requirements to members of the team.
- Assist with multiple stage tenders, including completing preliminary costings, and forms of tender.
Personal Specification- At least 12 months’ work experience in a product distribution or construction related background.
- Your current or previous job will have included an element of pricing or estimating, including calculating the selling price by adding the required margin to the cost. They would also consider candidates with financial accounts experience, because they value an analytical and thorough approach.
- You will enjoy managing your own workload but also communicate easily as part of a team and promote a ‘can-do’ attitude. As a team they are an international and deal with German, Austrian, French and Spanish suppliers and serve architects who are based in London but come from all over the world. You will need to adapt well and have a high level of written and spoken English.
- Be confident in dealing directly with Clients.
- Any experience in the facades industry, including knowledge of how to read a façade elevation drawing would be desirable.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook is essential.
- FYI full training provided and ongoing support.
Remuneration: Competitive, dependent on experience.
