- This long established joinery company who operate in North West London require an experienced Joinery Estimator to join their division. They have a reputation which is second to none.
In the role of Joinery Estimator you will be preparing tenders for a variety of high quality schemes, finest bespoke joinery across high end residences, commercial office and hotels. Five years estimating experience in this field is essential on contract values between £100k - £1million.
Duties include:
- Attend new project meetings or review new packages of work and liaise with clients/designers/architects to understand their requirements and brief.
- Researching materials, equipment and labour costs required for project to establish best cost / manufacturing methods, materials, outsourcing to be used in estimates.
- Issue drawings packages and other information and gathering quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers
- Assessing the levels of labour and program required along with risk on a project to prepare labour costs
- Analysing company rates and prices using with input onto accounts software packages and Excel spreadsheets to build up quotation.
- Preparing with input from Joinery Manager and submitting quotations for work
- Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities.
- Monitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs / variations are kept in line with forecasts and budgets.
- Completion and submission of PQQs
- Prepare and issue sub-contractor /material supply enquiries and assessment of quotations upon receipt
- Prepare specifications and/or contractor proposals
- Maintain sub-contractor & material supplier data base
- Assess tender documents and ensure sufficient information available to prepare tender document
- Complete tender documents for submission including T&C and exclusions.
- Submit tender and follow up
- Post tender negotiations
- Maintain contract documentation and advise on pre tender and post contract matters
- Preparation and issue of contractual letters to clients and/or sub-contractors
- Post contract liaison with clients and design team
- Attend site for site surveying and measurements of works when required.
- Agreement and certification of sub-contractors interim valuations and final accounts
- Preparation for supporting costs and materials for submission to accountant for Management and final accounts
- Agreement of final accounts
- Be responsible for ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest standards of health and safety practice in accordance with statue, the company health and safety policy and the project safety requirements
