- Description
- A well-known construction and joinery company are currently looking for a CAD Draughtsman to join their team in the West Midlands.
Typical responsibilities:-- Produce 3D models and working drawings from designer produced drawings.
- Production of manufacturing drawing packs for in house framing and joinery shops.
- Liaising with clients and external contractors.
- Support directors with Research and Development of new products and designs.
- Assistance with the management of an existing and growing standard library of details.
- Able to self-manage time and workflow through a central database.
- Communication with several departments.
Experience and Requirements:-- Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience of 3D modelling software (in house training for timber specific software provided)
- Experience with using Dietrich’s is desired but not essential. Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
The role would be ideally suited to someone from a similar position within the construction industry and offsite manufacture with construction/carpentry knowledge. Full training will be provided for all applicants due to the company’s unique method of construction.
Key skills/role requirements:-- Be able to work well in a team.
- Be able to work across the board on small to larger scale projects.
- Good interpersonal skills & communication are essential.
- Competence in speaking and dealing directly with clients, engineers and architects.
- Confidence to oversee multiple projects.
- Team member attitude, willing and able to provide assistance when required.
- Ability to perform and produce drawings to definite timescale.
- Understanding of structural engineering principles.
Working hours between 8:30am – 17:00am, Monday to Friday.
