Description
A leading high end architectural façade product specifier and seller are looking for a Project / Operations Manager to join their highly successful team. They come in a range of natural looks and finishes and sizes from thicker blocks to thin lightweight panels. They are distributors and fabricators of these high-end natural cladding products, so they buy and sell them as well as offering their clients the additional services that they require to design and install these materials to their building. These services include elements of the façade design work and the associated fixing system layouts and they do product presentations to architects, specialist façade installers and other building contractors. They also offer onsite training and support. The Group is known for having a successful and effective sales force, and an experienced and hands on management team.

The Role
The objective of this position is to run our major projects. You will communicate with suppliers and clients on a daily basis to ensure that our projects run smoothly, from receipt of order to final product delivery to the building site. You will manage larger ‘focus’ projects which includes arranging all logistics required and liaising with the warehouse operation to pull together these functions into one cohesive delivery. To ensure that our quality control is in place, that projects are managed efficiently with clear costing organised via spreadsheets for each. You will be the first point of contact to ensure that our customers experience good administration support and documentation where required.

Your work will begin from when the customer order has been placed, and from that point a meeting will be held with our estimating department to ensure you have all the relevant information you need. You will then liaise with the client team to order and deliver all the required items for that project in an organised and documented way, in line with the customer’s required timelines and production capabilities.

This new position has been created to enable the sales and estimating teams to focus on new business and look ahead whilst the operational side of the company is being overseen by a competent, organised individual with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage projects successfully. This is an internal office-based role which involves a lot of communication, some site visits and client office visits for updates, and occasional supplier visits to keep updated on the materials we sell. Ultimately, you will be the ‘go to person’ for larger projects.
