This main contractor is a respected construction firm specializing in delivering construction projects across the northern home counties.
They are a long established company and due to continued success they require an Estimator to assist their tendering activity.
They specialise in both commercial and residential refurbishment as well as new builds throughout Herts, Beds, Bucks as well as touching on North London with values ranging from £100k-£500k.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate cost calculations, estimations, and budgets for construction projects.
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities (BOQ), tender documents, and contract specifications.
- Analyse project specifications and drawings to identify potential cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and suppliers to gather necessary information for accurate cost analysis and pricing.
- Conduct thorough cost assessments, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. (CVR's)
- Prepare and evaluate tender packages, negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
- Provide advice on contractual matters and evaluate project risks.
- Monitor project costs, variations, and progress against budget, and produce regular cost reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and resolve contractual disputes, claims, and variations.
- Collaborate closely with contract managers, contract administrators, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
