We are working in partnership with a reputable main contractor who is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a £25 million social housing project based in Welwyn.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS looking to develop their career on a large-scale project while working closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

The Role:

• Assisting in the commercial management of a £25m social housing scheme
• Reporting directly into a Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Assisting with subcontract order preparation and placement
• Carrying out measurement of trade packages
• Supporting cost control, forecasting and reporting
• Assisting with subcontract procurement and package management
• Preparing and agreeing valuations and variations
• Working closely with site and project management team

The Ideal Candidate:

• Current experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Assistant
• Experience working for a main contractor preferred
• Background in social housing or residentialprojects advantageous
• Confident with measurement and subcontract administration
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Relevant construction or commercial qualifications (or working towards)
