Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a leading main contractor on a prestigious £100m life sciences development on a 7 month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a flagship project involving the refurbishment and redevelopment of an existing 10-storey steel frame building, including a complex cut and carve package alongside CAT A, CAT B and shell & core works. The project includes a full CAT B fit out to Ground and First Floor levels, CAT A works to Levels 2–4 and shell & core delivery to the remaining floors.

Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving programme, coordinating subcontractors and ensuring construction activities progress efficiently across this technically challenging scheme. We are specifically looking for a proactive and programme-focused individual who can identify potential issues early and implement solutions before they impact delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering large-scale commercial, life sciences or complex refurbishment or fit out projects and be confident managing fast-paced construction programmes within live or constrained environments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day management of site operations and subcontractors
  • Driving programme and short-term works planning
  • Identifying and resolving construction challenges proactively
  • Coordinating trades and ensuring works progress safely and efficiently
  • Monitoring quality, health & safety and programme performance
  • Supporting the Senior Project Manager with project delivery objectives
  • Maintaining strong communication across the site team and supply chain

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on major construction projects
  • Strong programme management and coordination skills
  • Experience on refurbishment, cut and carve or fit out schemes preferred
  • Valid CSCS Card
  • SMSTS Certificate
  • First Aid at Work Certificate
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-profile London scheme with a respected contractor and play a key role in delivering a technically complex development through to completion.
