- This is a challenging opportunity to join a highly successful main contractor who have a requirement for a Project Manager to run a £20m residential project.
A strong track record in the ability to execute contracts in a profitable and timely manner is of paramount importance, as is the style, professionalism and motivation required to deal effectively with clients, as well as all levels of support personnel.
Project Manager Duties of the Role:
Be responsible for leading an effective team
Be accountable as Team Leader for the supervision, direction and monitoring of site operations, ensuring that all sub contractors are coordinated and working effectively to the programme and detail and delivery required to achieve the right quality
Ensure that accurate and current financial information in respect of projects is made available to the Directors, Construction Manager and Site Managers
Manage the Project Team, allocate responsibilities and determine the site team structure to ensure best possible performance
Ensure that the site prelims are adequately funded including the provision of welfare, security, hoarding, site cleanliness, signage, lighting, guarding and PPE
Be responsible for the pre-planning and development of the site to enable a safe and efficient delivery of the project taking account of all risks
Monitor the progress of construction works and amend the sequence or methodology to ensure that overall completion dates are met
Ensure that the construction operations and procedures are adhered to by Project Team and Contractors
Manage the relationship with the Client and their representatives ensuring that appropriate communication and actions take place
Monitor the construction phase health and safety plan and all site HSE&Q documentation
Contribute to and manage the development of the project start up plan, ensuring all relevant statutory authorities are identified and managed
Participate in meetings ensuring the adequate communication of changes affecting safety, methodology, logistics and build quality
Constantly review the build quality achieved ensuing that the contract’s requirements are met
Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between cost, value and profit
Manage the relationships with adjoining neighbours
Promote a commitment to social, environmental and economic sustainability
