- Description
- The company is progressive and forward looking – but above all highly successful in the cyclical maintenance service to Local Authorities, registered Social Landlords (RSLs), and Private Sector Commercial Property Groups.
They are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for all commercial aspects of projects from appraisal and validation of subcontractor applications, including
cost valuation reporting, submission and negotiation of final accounts a thorough knowledge of current forms of contract.
- Manage commercial administration and management on several live projects or projects at pre-construction phase;
- Management and control of subcontract orders, accounts and variation accounts in line with the main contract and sub-contract data base
- Post-tender internal and external pricing analysis/assessment for sign-off whilst ensuring within budget
- Conduct contract risk and opportunity assessment to identify these areas and plan for them accordingly to ensure pricing remains on budget without undermining Health and Safety.
- Manage subcontractor and professional services selection for new schemes, ensure the chosen contractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedules liaising with legal counsel as required regarding contractual information (collateral warranties, PCG’s, etc)
- To take an overview and interest to work in unison with the Contract Manager on;
- pre-start planning and programming
- subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate skill set and capability to deliver the works. Place the appropriate order and all required information to carry out their work
- assist with contractual issues and take action as required
- Track critical path delay analysis from the Contracts Manager and assess financial impacts for potential claims
- Develop an understanding of all designated contracts, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughout the contracts
