A leading contractor in the Decent Homes sector, is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their team and manage our refurbishment and renovation projects across social housing schemes.
About:
They specialise in delivering Decent Homes projects that enhance the living conditions of residents in social housing. Their work includes full refurbishment, kitchen and bathroom replacements, M&E upgrades, and external works. They pride ourselves on delivering quality projects. Project value up to £5 million.
Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple Decent Homes projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flows for Decent Homes schemes, ensuring they are delivered.
- Procurement: Oversee the procurement process, including the selection of subcontractors, materials, and suppliers, ensuring value for money and compliance with client requirements.
- Valuations and Variations: Prepare and submit interim valuations, assess and manage variations, and ensure final accounts are settled.
- Contract Administration: Ensure compliance with JCT contracts, manage contractual risks, and resolve any disputes that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Client Liaison: Maintain effective communication with clients, local authorities, and project stakeholders, ensuring their expectations are met.
- Reporting: Provide accurate financial reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Site Visits: Attend site meetings and liaise with project teams to monitor progress and address any cost or contractual issues on-site.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the Decent Homes or Social Housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of refurbishment and maintenance contracts.
- Excellent cost management, budgeting, and financial reporting skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
