- Our client is a specialist contracting company providing clients with quality, high flatness tolerance concrete floors for industrial use. They are also part of a Global organisation working in an international environment.
Job Role
The scope and responsibility of the South East Asia (SEA) and General Manager (GM) is to lead and manage the day-to-day Business Operations of the Region – comprising of business and strategy development, sales, commercial / contracts admin, project management, technical engineering expertise, construction methodologies, operations and resource management.
To work closely in coordination with the support functions – comprising of finance, HR, IT, marketing and procurement.
This position will directly manage a team of professionals to support the region’s business activities, comprising engineers, commercial managers, operations and resources management, client site services to facilitate design and respond to technical issues.
The GM is also responsible for the Group & Financial Governance that includes adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures, technical specifications and national regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities- Business development and strategy management
- Develop new markets and drive new commercial activities within territory.
- Promote technical solutions to add client value to their project.
- Sustain key client existing relationships and drive the development to gain new major projects.
- Roll-out execution plans to achieve the company’s strategic vision & goals.
Sales Management
- Ensure that project tendering/bids follows the company policy and pricing principles.
- Support the sales team to maximize superior technical solutions vs competitors.
- Monitor and manage sales growth targets and project profitability within the company strategies.
- Review periodically the marketing and tendering process to ensure high performance levels.
Client Contracts Administration
- Ensure that all Contracts due diligence reviews are carried out without exception.
- Ensure that all pre-contract risk and commercial terms are fully reviewed before acceptance.
- Monitor that post-contract risk assessment is carried before all final accounts are settled.
Operations & Resources Management- Ensure that all key resources are under control and key equipment is maintained at all times.
- Ensure that full adherence of health and safety standards are fully adhered to on site
- Ensure the highest integrity and procedures adherence for procurement activities.
- Monitor site quality management of works and finishing to industry and company’s standards.
Project Finance Governance
- Ensure all project financials are up-to-date and timely – claims, invoicing and cash collections.
- The completion of final accounts and recovery of retentions monies properly managed.
- All client communications must be timely and follow-up with due urgency.
- Ensure that contractual notices and communications are handled at all times in the company’s best interest.
Organisational Management
- Manage the internal & external – skills sets diligently
- Ensure an adequate 3rd Party pool of resources (outsourced) is available and trained for immediate deployment.
- Ensure the requisite capabilities is sustained and updated accordingly – people development
- All staff must be competent and able to deliver the required performance in the region.
Management Reporting & Annual Budget
- Preparation of annual budget in required time frame
- Monthly sales and revenue forecasts with details on variations to target
- Management reporting on CV2 and Final A/Cs overruns with full remedial action plans
- All reporting must include the contextual and numeric reference for full understanding
Compliance to Group SOPs- Adherence at all times to Industry Rules and Regulations
- Full compliance to Country Financial Regulations
- Ensure all staff are aware and follow the Company Operating Principles & Quality Standards
- Any non-compliance situation must be immediate escalated to the Group Managing Director
Pre-Requisites- Degree in Engineering with 10 years of relevant experience.
- Candidates must have industry experience relating to Concrete Industrial Flooring encompassed with existing client contacts in SEA will be highly preferred.
- If candidates come with 2 -3 years relevant experience out of 10 years but with working experience in SEA, he/she could be consider for the role too.
