- Description
- This highly successful dry lining, suspended ceiling and raised access flooring contractor offers a supply and installation package.
Due to demand for their highly innovative product range a new appointment has been created within their management team.
You will come from either a Surveying or Estimating background where you have been involved in the preparation of estimates and proposals for high quality projects upto £10m.
You will already have gained valuable experience with a high level of autonomy with a specialist contractor or minor works division of a general contractor.
Ensure all estimating is carried out in accordance with set procedures
Provide an initial appraisal of bid documentation and establish bid strategies from earliest possible stage
Liaise with clients to ensure submissions are produced and submitted in accordance with the client requirements whilst providing commercial value
Ensure all bids are subject to proper adjudication to enable successful post tender negotiations whilst providing comprehensive handovers and presentation of tender bid to the operations team ensuring specification and budgets are fully understood
Work closely with other professionals including quantity surveyors, buyers, designers, construction managers and planning engineers to ensure that comprehensive feedback is collated to improve the quality and accuracy of the estimates produced
Review and prioritisation of incoming bids. Provide a working log which tracks the progress and status of live bids
Ensure bids are adequately resourced to ensure tenders are completed in a comprehensive and timely manner
Provide staff with guidance on their job responsibilities and ensure development and training needs of staff are identified and provided
Adopt continual improvement techniques to ensure year on year increased outputs and reduction of ambiguous information is achieved
Implement strategy and develop policy in line with the business plan
Live and breath health and safety, according to Company procedures

Experience dealing with manufacturers, obtaining best prices, understanding all the details
Attention to detail – pricing all components themselves, understanding interfaces
How its build – understanding sequence, potential issues with design and construction so can assess risk.
Cost base – should know ‘what things cost’
