- The Company:
This is an exciting opportunity to manage the production operations at the Christchurch factory for one of the largest and leading precast companies operating across New Zealand. Established for over 50 years, the company offers an extensive product range to the Civil Engineering and Water industries.
The Role:
Based from the Christchurch factory, the Production Manager will report in to the Site Manager. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide successful leadership of the precast factory teams to achieve the production purpose. Manage the factory labour resource onsite (as well as working alongside support people and suppliers) to produce high quality spun products, manufactured to the required quality standards, on time, and importantly – to the planned cost or better.
- Reviewing, motivating, and lifting the performance of all people within the pipe factory and support teams
- All labour resources, mould methods/use, raw materials, and consumables make-up, lifting equipment, casting processes, labelling and QC sign-off’s; are included, to safely and accurately manufacture pipe spun concrete products.
Requirements:
Experience
- Experience leading a pipes/precast production hall/teams
- Solid understanding of production scheduling and reporting
- Experience in precast and spun manufacturing techniques
- Experience problem solving concrete materials, mix, and curing processes
Technical
- Tertiary Engineering qualification (BE or equivalent)
- In depth technical knowledge of pre-cast manufacturing is essential, has an understanding of pre-cast capabilities, must be able to engage in a technical and engineering discussions with Sales Engineers and Production Engineers.
- Will have a good understanding of manufacturing Codes of Practice and Standards and how and where to apply these.
- Will have a good working knowledge of quality frameworks and systems.
- Capable of engaging and driving H&S focus and on time performance through measures and reporting
- Computer literate on using MS Office including Excel spreadsheets
- Full driver’s licence
- Gantry crane skills and Forklift licence is advantageous
