A well-established and rapidly growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The company delivers a range of refurbishment, fit-out, industrial, commercial and education projects across the South East, with a growing order book and strong pipeline of work.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to join a progressive contractor and take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from procurement through to completion.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of projects, working closely with the Contracts and Project Management teams.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Commercial management of projects from award through to final account
- Preparing and submitting valuations and applications for payment
- Managing project costs, budgets and cash flow
- Preparing monthly CVRs and financial forecasts
- Procurement and management of subcontract packages
- Preparing and negotiating subcontract orders
- Managing variations, valuations and final accounts
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor accounts
- Providing commercial support and advice to the project team
- Maintaining accurate commercial records and forecasts
- Working closely with clients, consultants and the supply chain
- Assisting with contractual matters, claims and commercial negotiations
The Person
The ideal person will have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
- Experience within refurbishment, fit-out, commercial, industrial or education projects
- Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
- Experience managing subcontract packages
- Good knowledge of valuations, variations, CVRs and final accounts
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
