- Description
- As a Quantity Surveyor you will be part of the UK's leading partitioning specialist and architectural glass specialist. In the fast track industry of fit-out, they pride themselves in offering quality service and innovative design that allows their clients to create flexible workspaces. They have extensive experience in the design; development and installation of silicone and dry jointed glass partitioning, demountable system partitions and advanced system drywall.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful Quantity Surveyor will have responsibility for all commercial aspects on a number of projects particularly income and expenditure to maximise profit margins and monitor budgets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Preparation of project budgets, checking projects contracts, administering projects Contracts.
b) Measurement of project to check quantities against tender allowances.
c) Preparation of tender documents for any sub contract works and specialist suppliers.
d) Set budgets for, and raise payments, for subcontract labour; manage variations as they occur; producing fortnight cost reports to their Clients.
e) Ensure an awareness of their key responsibilities under the contract; ensure regular agreement of site instructions with the client. Ensure payments are received on time in accordance with the contractual payment terms; ensure retention monies are released when due.
f) Prepare and discuss the final account for projects. Negotiate and agree final accounts within parameters set by Line Manager.
g) Prepare monthly Cost Value Reports.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor at intermediate level.
b) Able to deal well with people at all levels within their client as well as suppliers.
c) Eligible to work full time within the UK.
d) Valid UK driving licence.
e) Knowledge or experience of Fit-outs, refurbishments and have dealt with Partitioning
f) Background of Façade, glazing, Dry Lining, metal work, roofing/cladding, joinery or any similar specialist sub-contractor industry background would be preferable.
g) Working knowledge of JCT 2005 & JCT 2011 contracts with and without Design Portion, D&B, and Fixed Price, and any NEC form of contracts.
h) Experience working within the Fast Track Fit Out Industry as a specialist contractor.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) CSCS Card holder (Preferable).
b) Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Words, Microsoft Outlook, Union Square (Preferable).
