- Description
- This well respected interiors and refurbishment contractor due to expansion are currently looking for a Senior / Quantity Surveyor to join their organisation.
The position will involve commercial management of interior contracts including managing all procurement, valuation, contractual and commercial issues and formulating strategies for control of the projects and enhancement of final margins.
The Role:
Ensuring effective management of main contract and subcontract accounts through to final account including ensuring proper procedures are in place for preparing interim valuations, identifying and valuing variations, dealing with contractual matters, extension of time claims and any disputes that may arise.
Managing production of internal management reports including cost value reconciliations, profit plans and cash flow projections at regular intervals.
Working alongside the senior management staff to control and manage all issues on the project including advising on how best to minimise risk and maximise opportunities that may arise.
Liaison with the Client’s representatives on all matters relating to the contracts and the procurement and valuation of work and ensuring that relationships with those external consultants are maintained and enhanced throughout the life of the projects.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in quantity surveying and preferably with experience of successfully managing the commercial aspects of construction projects with a main contractor. Typical projects values are between £1m and £5m.
Must be self-motivated and keen to work with existing management team to produce results that exceed expectations.
An ability to form effective working relationships with staff and with external consultants, subcontractors and suppliers will be essential.
