Company Overview
Privately owned developer / contractor, established 25 years undertaking variety of developments both speculatively and with partners.
Role Overview
Working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a £250 million turnover scheme over six years based in Erith. The scheme is to work on a 600 residential units and school.
Duties
- Maintain and build on relationships with current supply chain including project partners, design team members, sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Control in conjunction with Senior Surveyor day-to-day commercial and contractual activities
- Price any variations.
- Procure sub-contractor / supplier packages in accordance with the Procurement Schedule ensuring maximum value is achieved.
- Undertake comparisons of tender returns and provide proposal review / approval.
- Prepare sub-contractor / supplier orders.
- Undertake main and trade contract valuations.
- Establish and set up commercial report for scheme and update monthly.
- Attend project meetings, provide commercial and cost advice
- Work closely with the management to ensure the project objectives are met.
- Provide advise to design team on most economical / best value construction route.
- Undertake VE of schemes / trade packages as required.
- Procurement of sub-contractors in accordance with schedule / within programme / budget.
- Establishing scopes of work.
- Undertake Valuations of sub-contractor accounts and variations.
- Payments and notifications - monthly / fortnightly as required.
- Making and monitoring NHBC / Building Control applications.
Requirements
- Commercially astute.
- Good construction knowledge / experience
- Works well within a team or individually.
- Good IT skills (MS Office)
Qualifications
- Contractor trained or developer experience.
- Professional qualification desirable but not pre-requisite.
- Full Driving License

Remuneration
- Salary = £60,000 (Approx) + Car Allowance + Bonus structured at 35% Healthcare
- Holidays = 21 days + Bank Holidays. Days need to be retained for Christmas Co. Shutdown.
